Community Center

Thanks to the work of Renu Garg, we have some programs/open time starting January 6, 2009 at our Community Center! Below is some information from Renu. I hope to see many of you there in the coming weeks.

We have about 500 books on the shelves at present, with at least another 200 in boxes. There is a nice selection for all ages, including videos, DVDs, coloring books, soft toys and magazines. I also created a small shop with odds and ends that were sent in the donation boxes. The small black box on the window sill contains file cards to collect e-mail addresses and track our patrons.

Tuesday- 3-5 p.m.      Homework help – Renu Garg

Wednesday-6-8 p.m.  Preschool and Toddler open play-time  - Heather Starr Fiedler

Thursday- 6-8 p.m.    Activities for 8-10 year olds – Darrin Krally

Sunday- 3-5 p.m.         Yoga (more information forthcoming) - Tamanna Sultana

We have a lot of National Geographics which I don’t mind the kids cutting up and using for projects/posters/crafts etc. We can always get more.

The High School will be running the book drive till the end of January. We have a closet at the end of the room for storage, which  has our extra books and materials.

We’ve launched the new web site for the Community Center at Rural Ridge. Located at http://ruralridgecommunity.com this web site has information about the center, rentals, upcoming events and email newsletter subscription. Please visit the site today and sign up to volunteer or participate in an event.

ALL NEW RESIDENTS, TENANTS, AND/OR BUSINESSES must register with the Township.

In accordance with Ordinance #287, failure to do so WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER OCCUPANCY may result in the issuance of a citation to the property owner and/or tenant.

Please contact Jacque Sippel at the Township office at 412-767-5333, extension 11 to obtain the proper form or download it from the website at
(www.indianatownship.com) under Taxes, then at the bottom under “Municipal Lien Letter” area, they can click on “Property Owner Registration Form”.

NOTE:  If you are unsure if you are registered or not, if you currently get the Township Newsletter in the mail, you are registered.  Or, if you are still unsure, email me at jsippel@indianatownship.com and I can check for you.
